Privacy policy

SSF Merge does not collect, store, transmit or share any of your data. It has no server, no account, no analytics and no telemetry. Everything it does happens inside the PowerPoint task pane, on your own device.

Who provides SSF Merge

SSF Merge is made and published by DBP Invest ApS, CVR 36053925, a company registered in Denmark, under the publisher name StruktureretSundFornuft ApS. Where this policy says “we”, that is who it means.

What SSF Merge reads

SSF Merge is a mail-merge add-in for Microsoft PowerPoint. To do its work it reads three things:

• The slides in the presentation you have open, so it can find placeholders such as {{Name}} and copy the block you mark.
• The rows you paste into the task pane, which are the data you want merged.
• Any picture files you choose in the picture picker.

All three are processed in the add-in's own pane, on your device. None of them is sent anywhere. The merged slides are written straight back into the presentation you already have open, through Microsoft's own Office JavaScript interface.

What we collect

Nothing.

We operate no server that receives your content. The add-in makes no network requests of any kind while it runs. There is no sign-in, no account, no licence check and no usage tracking. We could not identify you, or a presentation you have merged, if we were asked to.

What is stored on your device

SSF Merge stores one small record in your browser's local storage, named ssf-merge.run.v1.

It holds only what is needed to undo a merge that was interrupted: how many slides the presentation had, how many were added, an internal identifier for the run, the date, and which document the merge was run against. It contains none of your merged content, none of your pasted rows, and no personal information. It stays on your device, is never transmitted, and is cleared once the merge finishes or the slides are taken back.

Third parties

We send your data to no third party, because we send it nowhere at all.

The add-in's own files — the pane and its icons — are served over HTTPS from ssf-merge.struktureretsundfornuft.dk, hosted on GitHub Pages. The add-in also loads Microsoft's office.js library from Microsoft's content delivery network, as every Office add-in is required to. Your browser contacting those hosts to fetch those files is a request like any other on the web, and their own privacy practices apply to it. Neither request carries any of your presentation content or your pasted data.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights of access, correction, erasure and portability over personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to give you a copy of, correct or delete.

If you want SSF Merge to leave no trace on your device, remove the add-in in PowerPoint and clear your browser's storage for the site above.

Children

SSF Merge is a business productivity tool and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Earlier versions stay visible in the project's public history at github.com/dannbleeker/SSF-Merge.
